SUCCESSFUL EVERESTING #54 / FRANK FLOYD FINDS THE FLOW & PUTS ON A SHOW!

‘Hi Lee,

I’m Everesting Cheddar Gorge on the 16th May. It’s 60 laps in total, around 175m of elevation each lap. I’m relatively new to all this to be honest, so the simpler the better in an ideal world. I don’t have a smart trainer or anything like that so will be doing the bulk of the rides rain or shine!!

Me and my mate have built a solid base, and can comfortably ride 100km at a time. Just wondering if yo’ve got a basic ~12 week plan for us to follow please?

We’re doing it on a bit of a budget, so don’t have a smart trainer or power meter, would have to be RPE

Hope you can help. We’re a little bit lost and think a plan from yourself would help us out an awful lot!

This was Frank’s intro email to me. As I always do, I suggested we have a chat online to work out exactly which coaching plan would work for him. He’s an good guy and was very keen to get going, so after working out his budget I suggested my 12 week ‘Everesting Capsule’ plan – a pre-written plan designed to get even a relative beginner up to speed and fit enough over 3 months to successfully complete an Everesting.

And that’s exactly what he did – along with his mate, whom I think was using the same plan!

‘We did it! A very, very, special day with some pretty dark moments at times. Could not have done it without support and thought of you a few points during the ride.

Thank you for your programme and in many ways introducing this crazy sport into my life.’

This success made it 54 successful Everesting rides on my pre-written plan, with another 50 or so people that I’ve coached on my 1-2-1 programme. So far, that’s a 100% success rate.

Incredible!

Frank did this not just for himself but for a great cause, the British Heart Foundation, raising over 5000 GBP, and you can see his donation page here.

This is what it is all about – using my hard-earned experience to guide people to achieve their goals, and creating memories that will last forever.

Looks like they had some great support too, and a champion finale.

Frank rolls in, mission completed.

And his mate – think he won a Giro stage that day too 😉

Loveliness all round!

Well done Frank and team.

As always, thanks to Andy Van Bergen, the Godfather of Everesting and Hells 500, for asking me to be the official coaching supplier to them many years ago.
