I stumbled onto this life-affirming short film entitled ‘This Is Freedom Road’ by Alex Tierney on Vimeo and knew just about instantly that I had to share it here with you good people.
Who is Alex Tierney? Check out his website. He has some other films there too. On the site, it says in CAPS THAT:
ALEX IS A SELF-TAUGHT DIRECTOR BASED IN LONDON. HIS STORIES EXPLORE THE INTERSECTIONS OF CULTURE, ICONOGRAPHY AND IDENTITY, STRIVING TO CONVEY THE SPIRIT OF A PLACE/TIME AND THE INDIVIDUALS FORGED WITHIN.
The description of the video is short and doesn’t say much, just “A London bike crew leaves the inner-city for the first time in search of Britain’s longest downhill road in one of the most remote corners of Scotland.”
But the film speaks for itself, and so do the folk in it.
Seems that Alex decided these guys should get out of the city and go ride free, ride wild, ride ‘n smile – and is there any other way to ride?
Hell no.
Beautiful, inspiring, tear in the eye stuff here and I love it, think you will too.
Enjoy!
And cheers Alex!
What a marvelous video you found, Lee! Thanks for sharing.
You’re welcome Carl! I emailed the director and said how much I enjoyed the video, he sent a very nice message back too 😉
