MY PROFESSIONAL CYCLING ADVENTURE ON JOOK JESTER’S PODCAST

Did I become the world’s oldest neo-professional when I took part in the Tour of Qatar in 2012 at the age of 36 and 10 months? Quite possibly!

I received an email from Dustin, owner of the Jook Jester podcast a few weeks ago, asking me if I’d agree to be on his show. The show features an eclectic group of people, from dance company founders to educators, CEOs to sports people and all in between.

He told me that he also was a cyclist and that he’d been following my writings on CrankPunk.com for years, and after a few initial email exchanges I agreed.

Here is the result. I tried to speak slowly but as you will hear it didn’t last long, but I hope it’s interesting listening, and if you want to understand how I went from a skinny 15 year old chasing a dream of riding in the Tour de France, to becoming a pro at 37, racing against the likes of Tom Boonen and Mark Cavendish, and then becoming the official cycling coach for Everesting and race organiser for the Taiwan KOM Challenge and the communications manager for the Mongolia Bike Challenge, well, it’s all in here.

Thanks for listening, of you do, and thanks to Dustin too.
