EDUARD PRADES CRASHES AFTER TOUR OF HELLAS VICTORY – BUT HE HADN’T WON!

1–2 minutes

read

Spanish cyclist Eduard Prades crashed on Stage 1 of the Tour of Hellas in Greece, as he mistakenly celebrated winning the stage. In fact, the winner, Aaron Gate, had finished ahead of the bunch almost 2 minutes ahead!

As he raised his arms aloft in crossing the line, Prades’ saddle appeared to fall off, a really bad bit of timing… and yes, to make matters worse, he didn’t even get the victory.

Pardes said: ‘Both Trek and my team had been attacking for much of the climb and we managed to catch the breakaway group.

‘We caught them but the truth is that we didn’t have much information and the way the race was going I thought there was no one left in front, that’s why in the end I raised my arms.’

Looks painful, and a little embarrassing!
