TAIWAN KOM CHALLENGE by DT SWISS

Last year saw the 10th anniversary of the ever-awesome Taiwan KOM Challenge, which, if you don’t yet know, is one of the hardest climbs that you can do on a bicycle in the world, starting at 0m and rising to 3275 meters, over 85km.

I know it very well because I’ve raced it, touristed up it, flown down it, and because I am the Communications Manager for the event, something I love doing with a deep passion. My job basically is to invite the pros over to ride and also to select and invite the foreign media.

Riders such as Nicole Cooke, Emma Pooley, Omar Fraile and Cadel Evans, ad well Global Cycling Media, VeloNews, CyclingTips, it’s my job to bring these folks over.

DT Swiss are one of the brands that have supported us the longest, and they always do a great job of not only promoting the event but also by stacking the race with their own riders, mostly staff who work at DT. There’s always a good buzz around their stand at the event and I’ve become good friends with quite a few of their crew.

For the past few years, DT have been commissioning films of the event and last year they really captured the beauty and toughness of the race and the landscape, and here is the result.

Hope you enjoy!
