OK no gazillions, but for a fair old chunk o’ cash!
This is the story that the titanium road bike used by the pioneering German electronic band Kraftwerk in their popular 1984 “Tour de France” video has sold at auction for a staggering $57,600 — far above its estimated $4,000–$6,000 value.

The bike, ridden in the video by band founder Florian Schneider, features a drillium-treated silver frame, with its triple chainrings and rear derailleur cage riddled with holes to reduce their weight – done with a drill, hence… you get me.
(This kind of drill mularky used to be popular when I was a kid, on hill climb bikes).
Included in the sale were Polaroid photos of Schneider riding the bike. Kind of amazing really that both the bike and the Polaroids are in such good nick, and kind of a cool collector’s item.
