Yes, this may sound odd for an atheist to be cycling to church but when I get the chance to head back to the north of England, that is exactly what I love to do.
More specifically, I like to ride up to Heysham and to the wonderful little spot that is St. Patrick’s Chapel. These are ruins of a church that was built in the 7th / 8th Century and features 8 stone tombs that lie looking westward.
Then I pop into St Peter’s Chapel, a working church that has been there for over 700 years.
Hope you enjoy!
