CRANKPUNK
DOPED UP LIKE DI LUCA
might well be crankpunk’s first t-shirt. if that appeals let me know…
anyway, i’ve finished my Giro reporting on PEZ, it has been one heck of a ride as well, what a cracking race. hats off to Nibali, and, for that matter, to Uran ‘Wild Boy’ Uran and to Cuddles too.
Well said Lee
cheers Mick!
I do find it strange that sky get such a bad press on the drugs issue. Whilst i can understand people being sceptical other teams and riders dont get the same attention. Sky have a ZT policy and have sacked people with previous implications. The mistake they made was hiring an implicated doctor, yet every team seams to hire people with past discretions including doctors. Why not the implications on Nibali who seems to have improved a lot since the Tour. Why not the criticism of the Italian pro conti teams who annually produce a doper between them. And why not the criticism of AG2R who have had 2 cases in the last 8 months. Transparency is a buzz word at the moment but i think there needs to be some transparency with the journalists and bloggers and their anti team sky agenda, when other teams get away with far worse
hi, good points, though i have actually written around the web about all those points you raised! you are quite right, the press needs to be consistent. the same thing is happening as before, no one dare mention anything for being branded a kill joy. what disappointed me about sky was their previous intention to post riders’ values got dropped very quickly – we really need to see ALL riders tests, it might divulge their form but the sport needs it.
we also need a voice from them too – thing is though that cyclists are too independent. there’s no patron anymore also. so, it’s schtum….
