thanks to my friend Bjarke for putting me onto this rather lovely bunch of bikes from the Boston-based brand, Firefly.
titanium, beautifully welded, some very bike-geeky attention to detail and a sense of subtlety that quietly speaks volumes.
and an MTB frame that wouldn’t look out of place on my wall.

I’d like to see how you’d like a custom Ti road bike. Cyclists have lots of crazy assumptions about materials and what types of bikes they “dictate”. People say, “Ti is too soft to race on. It isn’t stiff enough.” A lot of this comes from the marketing that has been sold over the years. I think, if you successfully specified a custom ride from Firefly, or any of the other custom Ti outfits, you would find your favorite bike.
if i wasn’t sponsored i most likely would ride titanium, or aluminium, purely because you can’t break ’em. also, aesthetically, have to say Ti is probably my favorite material. and these Fireflies are so hot i almost feel guilty for gazing at them!
